The graduands were also awarded with certificates of completion in a funfair event held on Sunday, at Amreen Academy Hayin Danmani, kaduna.

Speaking at the occasion, a member of the school management and a veteran journalist, Comrade Musa Mohammed, said the school was established for the purpose of impacting Islamic knowledge on children at their early stage of life.

Comrade Mohammed said inculcating Islamic knowledge in children would help address the security challenge facing the country and boost its image in the comity of nations.

Sheikh Musa Yahaya, who is the chief imam of the Hayin Danmani Jumma’at mosque, advised the graduands to be obedient, respectful and dutiful to their parents and God. He also charged the parents to follow up with their children in improving their knowledge on the path of God.

Forum Commends Sokoto Governor’s Milestones, Lampoons Media Attackers

The Sokoto Progressives Forum (SPF) has hailed Governor Ahmed Aliyu for what it described as his “fast-growing masses-friendly administration, unrivalled in the last eight years”.

The SPF, in a media statement it issued to newsmen in Kaduna and endorsed by its Chairman, Barrister Mohammed Sani Goronyo and Secretary-General Bashir Isa, said Governor Aliyu has achieved in 100 days what his predecessor in the PDP could not do in eight years. They cited an instance with the revamping of portable drinking water supply “something that has not been witnessed for many years by  innocent voters of Sokoto”.

The SPF also took a swipe at “a group of desperate  mischief-makers who are on the payroll of election losers, masquerading as Tinubu For Real, working in cahoots with fifth columnists hoping to distract the attention of Sokoto people”.

Goronyo, in the statement, said their group is composed of “true citizens of Sokoto State and we are therefore on ground, monitoring the policies and programmes of Governor Ahmed Aliyu. We therefore challenge the so-called ‘Tinubu for Real’ group to prove to us if they ever visited Sokoto”.

Turning to the claim by the Arc Isa Ibrahim group’s “spurious claims” on banditry in Sokoto the SPF said: “we challenge Governor Aliyu’s blind attackers to visit Sokoto first and find out the latest developments on the renewed effort of security agencies to secure the State. We are sure the group relied on old details, prior to the assumption of office by Governor Aliyu”.

The SPF on the other hand,  called on security agents to arrest and investigate the Arc Isa Ibrahim group, for “that malicious, mischievous press release, designed to undermine the successes recorded by the Military, police Civil Defence and  others, in dealing blows on Sokoto terrorists”.

The group commended Governor Aliyu for “speedily breaking the records by buying vehicles to ease transportation difficulties for the people of Sokoto State, especially in this era where transportation services are part of the pillars of a strong economy.

It is indeed heartwarming that for the first time in more than five years, Sokoto has a young Turk as governor who is spearheading a knowledge-driven  economy, efficient and affordable transportation system and prompt payment of workers salaries, among other welfare issues”.

CSOs Ask NLC, TUC to Consider Economic Hardship, End Strike … Urges Unions to Support Tinubu’s Govt. to Move Nigeria Forward

Northern based Coalition of Civil Society Organisations have asked the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress to consider current economic hardship Nigerians are facing and Call-off the ongoing National Strike immediately.

According to the CSOs, the untold hardship caused by the indefinite strike, especially in the north is becoming unbearable for the ordinary citizens, who eke living from daily economic activities.

In the 8-point communique issued after an emergency meeting held at Arewa House, Kaduna today, the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations urged the labour unions to consider alternative dispute resolution mechanisms other than strike actions  to achieve their demands  that will usually ground the economy and cause more hardships to common man.

The communique jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary,Comrade Musa Abdullahi Danbatta and Comrade Yusuf Ibrahim Kudan ,the CSOs said though NLC has the right to mount pressure on government to achieve its demands , the timing is wrong considering the plethora of challenges facing country now .

While stating that they are not insensitive to the plights of labour unions and reasons  for the strike , they want the labour unions to consider and be mindful  that the issues raised are inherited problems ,which are currently being addressed by the federal government . Adding, ” it would be counter-productive to slow the process down with  incessant strike actions, when round table engagements could be better option. “

The Communique further reads: ” We have followed with keen interest , the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration and discovered that his economic policies are geared toward economic recovery and ensuring a sustainable sectoral growth and development.

“It is against this background that we resolved  the  Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and other labour unions should call-off the strike action immediately and consider a round table engagement with federal on issues of their demands .

“We therefore call on respected labour unions to support  President Ahmed Tinubu to move the country forward, considering that since assuming  office on May 29,203 has demonstrated committed to tackling the economic problems inherited and began the journey to rebuild the country’s battered economy in a difficult situation.

“NLC and TUC should  consider that the President was able to take a bold and courageous decision to remove the fuel subsidy to avert a national economic catastrophe of epic proportions, which stunted the growth of economy over the years.

“That it was in  consideration  of the pains on Nigerians and workers especially that the government rolled out intervention in form Palliatives to help cushion the unintended negative impacts of subsidy removal, such as;  working out a minimum wage and salary increase, supporting states and local governments ,  providing fertilizers to farmers, grains to households, cash transfers to people with low incomes.

“That  it is worthy of note  that President Tinubu  laid out  steps to improve incentives for civil servants, including salary increases, improving quality and hygiene of working environments. His payroll-system reforms removed thousands of ghost workers from the system”

The CSOs also asked the labour unions consider the federal government’s Petroleum industry reforms aimed at  improving crude oil production output and the ongoing efforts made to repatriate of looted funds, which will no doubt help in revenue generation and enhanced economic stability.

While highlighting Tinubu’s economic recovery reforms, they observed that government has set up a Tax and Fiscal Reforms Committee that is fully at work to deepen the ongoing reforms and reposition the national economy for long-term sustainability.

However, they expressed optimism that these reforms will help reduce the impact of the high cost of living on the citizens.Adding ,”The support bof labour unions as pressure groups is required to help the President focus on redirecting the economy and remove  impediments to productivity and competitiveness in order to grow and create millions of decent jobs that are essential for long term economic growth.”

Group Condemns Attacks on Matawalle …Passes Vote of Confidence on him as Minister

Group under umbrella of National Movement for Good Governance(NMGG) has condemned the recent attacks and call by some groups for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct the anti-corruption body Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe the alleged misappropriation of Zamfara State resources by Matawalle, who is the immediate former governor of the State.

According to the group, the call on President to immediately suspend Bello Matawalle as the Minister of State for Defence is not only premature, but also unnecessary considering his past records of performance and commitment to nation building during his days as Governor and now Minister.

The group however asked Zamfara State Governor,Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare and Minister of State Defense, Alhaji Bello Matawalle to sheath sword and join hands together to tackle the recurring insecurity problems in the State.

While saying there no basis for the bickerings over his appointment as Minister ,the group however said ,” Findings revealed that Matawalle did his best to contain the challenges of Insecurity and development with proactive measures while he held sway as Governor and if sustained by Governor Dauda Lawal, it will surely help end banditry and create atmosphere for business to thrive in the state.

The northern based group
in a press statement made available to journalists in Kaduna today said, the recent allegations against immediate-past administration of Matawalle over issues of misappropriation of funds and Gusau International (Cargo) Airport project are unhealthy and unnecessary for growth and development of Zamafa State .

In the statement signed by Comrade Ibrahim Dabo ,the group maintained a ,”Instead of these unnecessary accusations against Matawalle, who during his days as Governor of the State fought and tackled the insecurity situation inherited ,when he took over power in 2019, we expect the current Governor to meet with the Minister and work together to find a lasting solution to the lingering insecurity challenges.

The statement further reads :”Instead of these attacks, there is need for Zamfara Governor to capitalise on the advantage of Former Governor Matawalle as a Minister in-charge of security to deploy troops to rid the state of bandits without any delay.

“We recalled that the incumbent Governor made promise during campaigns to address the problem of banditry and criminal activities .But our findings revealed that the mass abduction to waves of attacks, killings, and maiming of hundreds of innocent people, bedeviling the state remain unabated, hence the need for this much desired collaboration .

“Part of reasons we insisted on collaborative efforts is because, with the duo working together on matters of security, the spiral effect will no doubt help create a sustainable structure and institutional framework that will bring focus and direction to fight the banditry head

“We expect Governor Dauda Lawal to know that the welfare, well-being, and security of lives and property of the citizens is a constitutional matter that requires attention of all leaders in the stakeholders.”

Speaking on matter of cargo airport that stirred up recent acrimony , the group explained,”We gathered from reliable sources that the services of competent consultant were engaged in the execution of the cargo airport with all relevant documents at hand.

It however advised,”If the problem of banditry and other insecurity challenges would be solved ,the only solution is for Governor and all stakeholders to jettison blame game and fully be committed to fighting the ugly security situation bedeviling the State over the years”.

By Comrade Musa Mohammed

“On behalf of the APC family in Kaduna state, I congratulate our president, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his Deputy, Kashim Shettima, on their victory at the Supreme Court”.

Mamman Lagos appealed to politicians to prioritize the interest of Nigeria, noting that the country is greater than any individual.

“The supreme Court judgement has put to an end the needless bickering, distractions and litigation that greeted the 2023 presidential election. It is my hope that the opposition will team up with our president to move Nigeria forward in the overall interest of the country.”

called on the major rivals of the president to sheath their swords of political combat and join hands with the Tinubu administration in the collective goal of making the nation great again.

“The elections have been announced by the electoral authorities and confirmed by the courts, and I call on all former political rivals of the president to show good faith by joining hands with the Bola Tinubu administration in its ongoing efforts to take the nation to a higher level”.

A chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Hon. Abubakar Mahmoud (Jarman Abakwa), has congratulated president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his Victory at the supreme Court, and described the judgement as a victory for democracy and urged the appellants to join hands with President Tinubu to address the challenges facing the country.

“I commend the justices of the Supreme Court for upholding the verdict of the Nigerian electorate who voted for President Tinubu during the presidential election.

Hon. Musa Aliyu Kali, a chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), in Kaduna Stated, described president Tinubu’s victory as a legal vindication that further strengthens the nation’s democratic process.

He noted that the victory was not only for President Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), but also for all Nigerians.

“The judgement is a watershed and a moment of joy for all Nigerians”.

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to the Executive Governor of Kaduna state on chieftaincy affairs, Hon. Barr. PIA best thing to happen to Nigeria’s oil sector -House of Reps Caucus

In its efforts to ensure maximum output and smooth operation in the oil sector, the House of Representatives caucus pledged to support President Bola Tinubu-led administration to achieve a seamless implementation of fuel subsidy removal and other aspects of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021.

According to House of Reps caucus consisting of over 50 members drawn from across the country, the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 is the most audacious attempt to overhaul the petroleum sector, once bedevilled by controversies and uncertainties.

Hon. Seso Ikpagher (Benue APC) who disclosed this ,described the PIA as the best thing to happen to Nigeria’s oil sector and one of the numerous reforms birthed by the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Engr. Mele Kyari.

He, however, lamented that the implementation of the law and operationalisation of its objectives remains a cause for serious concerns.

If properly effected, Ikpagher noted that the PIA has the potential to impact Nigerians positively, facilitating economic development by attracting and creating investment opportunities for local and international investors.

While admitting that the expected gains of the Petroleum Industry Act have not been fully actualised, he expressed optimism that with Kyari, Nigerians can be hopeful.

To this end, he said the House of Reps has resolved to give the NNPCL boss all the necessary support to succeed.

Meanwhile, Hon. Iyawe Esosa (Edo, LP) described Kyari as the game-changer in the oil and gas sector not just in Nigeria but the continent.

Esosa said the NNPCL GCEO came at a turbulent period characterised by low production, burgeoning vandalisation of oil pipelines, oil theft on a grand scale, and demoralised staff of the company.

However, just a little over three years later, he said the story is different.

“The signing of the PIA by former President Muhammadu Buhari was perhaps the biggest breakthrough for Kyari as it opened the door for more significant changes in the national oil giant,” he said.

“We can’t forget how he worked for the passage of the PIA. Today, we have a new, refreshed, and rejuvenated NNPC. He has gone a step further to initiate new investment benchmarks to further rejuvenate the once-ineffective company.

“Nigeria’s oil and gas industry is now on a transformative path, unlocking opportunities for growth and prosperity in the sector. The end of the fraudulent subsidy regime was another milestone.

“Under the leadership of Kyari, the company has taken significant steps towards enhancing transparency and accountability in the industry. One of the ways he has done this is by publishing monthly financial and operational reports.

“For Kyari, it is about the country. And together with other distinguished colleagues, we have vowed to support him in breaking new grounds and achieving more”.

ELECTION OVER ,LET’S BUILD A COALITION TO RETIRE OLD GROUP , says Ex LP Presidential Aspirant

Comrade Faduri Oluwadare Joseph aka Fadojoe former presidential aspirant under Labour Party has called on Nigerians who are interested in building a new nation to wake up to the reality that it takes a united people determined to rescue their country and ready to give it all it takes to rescue Nigeria from this old generation of sit tight politicians who have destroyed and still destroying the everything that remains. Yet still not ready to surrender power willingly.

Speaking with newsmen online from his base in the United States of America (USA) he expressed how from day one of this election he clearly predicted that it’s “white elephant project that is going anywhere. Here we are today, affirming my earlier submission and predictions made clear a day after the election.

“Since this administration came in to office, the life of an ordinary citizen has been turned apart. More impoverishment, more hardship, more suffering, more agony and deeper crashing.

“A government that started with disrupting the nation with sudden announcement of subsidy removal and up until now, the nation has not remained the same again. I believe in the legitimacy of the President, that no doubt but this government that promised renewed hope has failed Nigeria (as a country) and still fails Nigerians.

The activist again lamented the deteriorating state of the country as, “things are getting worse by the day due to the unfavourable policies of this government that made no plan and no positive implementation. Our nation has been a country of hell, and people can’t even afford one square meal per day.

“Our economy is in a totally shamble. Our naira is on a free fall every day. Insecurity all over the nation, especially in the northern part of Nigeria. Our Educational system is degraded to zero, food is out of reach of ordinary citizens and at worst a government that is insensitive to the cry of the nation where the government is borrowing to loot and to lavish. A government that in the midst of poverty and still borrowing, yet its National Assembly gifting themselves official car each worth N160million after their initial N70 billion dashing themselves money from the nation treasury, even when Nigerian workers still earn less than $50/per month. A government that announced student loans for Youths only to slam them with 400% school fees hike. A government with no plan and policies for children, elderly and people with disabilities.

Proffering solutions, the 2023 Labour Party presidential aspirant said, “we must come together and start building a coalition to bring Nigerian together under one big umbrella and not all these divisions in our political parties and process

“We must put this government on its toes to make policies that can impact Nigerian positively. People are suffering, people are hurting, people are hopeless, people are dejected, people are dying every day in our nation due to poverty, hunger, insecurity and others.

“We do not have any other nation to go to, we must come together to fight for this one we have. This government must seek help where it is needed help and not just make it a party affair, but go outside its party to seek help if need be.

“This government must thoroughly think through their policies before unfolding them to Nigerian and before implementing them as well.

“I want our nation to succeed and that success can only happen if we all put hands on deck. I mean both the government (in power) and formidable opposition, to check-make excesses of this government and to start putting our heads together for a formidable alternative ahead of 2027. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he concluded
