Investigation conducted by teaming journalists has shown that significant achievements have been achieved in under the present administration of Dr. Aliyu Hamza Balarabe.
A team of journalists concerned with the development of public healthcare, particularly in the North visited the health institution in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state, were they assess the achievements made so far under the able leadership of Dr. Aliyu Balarabe.
The journalists in their survey discovered the performance of medical centre and also their Investigation revealed that FMC Birnin Kebbi are among the best as healthcare providers in Kebbi state and nigeria at large.

Dr. Aliyu Hamza Balarabe since he assumed duty as the Medical Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Medical Centre Birni Kebbi, on December 27th 2018, the Centre has witnessed monumental and unprecedented development in various areas.
The journalists has rated federal medical centre Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state among the best in nigeria.
Dr. Aliyu reached impressive heights in his career.
He made FMC Birnin Kebbi famous and proud.
This incredible man achieved a lot since his assumption as the Medical Director.It is however good to point out right here the secret behind the accomplishments.
RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENTS:The Federal Medical Centre Birni Kebbi, which is a Tertiary Healthcare Facility located in the North West part of Nigeria with a mission to provide effective, efficient and affordable healthcare services to the citizenry in line with the Federal Government’s objectives for the healthcare delivery system.
The Administration came in on the 27th December, 2018 when Dr. Aliyu Hamza Balarabe was appointed as the substantive Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi. 

When he took over the mantle of leadership, his administration met a lot of gaps to be filled in, such as, Infrastructure, Equipments, Training Personnel, and Welfare.
In an attempt to make a change, the Management took on bold steps towards ensuring that the deficits are corrected and the gaps are filled.
With the big challenges and limited resources he was able to make some giant strides in the centre.

When the Hon. Minister of State for Health Sen. Adeleke O. Mamora visit federal medical centre Birnin Kebbi in 2021, he commissioned 13 number projects the highest ever commission by the Minister at once.

ABOUT FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE BIRNIN KEBBI

Federal Medical Centre Birnin Kebbi is a tertiary health care institution situated in the capital of Kebbi State, the land of equity. It is a fully functional hospital with over three hundred bed capacity with state of the art medical equipment manned by well trained and highly qualified professionals.  

Historical BackgroundThe Centre is one of the MDAs (parastatal) under the Federal Ministry of Health. It was established under Decree 10 of 1985 i.e. the University Teaching Hospitals (Reconstitution of Boards) Act, Cap 462 on 6th June 2000. The Federal Medical Centre Birnin Kebbi took off on the site of a renovated Rural Health Centre with a seventy-five bed capacity in 2001. The facility had been handed over to the Federal Government by the Kebbi State Government in the year 2000. Since then the Centre has grown over the years to achieve its current over three hundred bed capacity tertiary health care facility amongst other milestones. 

The hospital is located along the Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar, Dukku Barracks road, off the ever busy Birnin Kebbi – Jega road in the heart of the City. In 2019 the hospital recorded an average patient turnover of about one hundred and sixteen thousand, four hundred and ten patients including those from the neighbouring states and Niger republic.

Police said they would kill me with my driver and they almost did – DC Fatima Kashim.

“some police officers are being awarded while some are on the road under the disguise that one has followed a wrong pathway”.

A Deputy Comptroller Nigeria Customs Service Hajiya Fatima Kashim Ibrahim described an incident along ijora via national theater in Lagos State.
The deputy comptroller said in the late hours of August 16, 2022, after closing from work at about 5.20pm a police officer tried to kill her with her driver along ijora via national theater in Lagos.

“My name is Fatima Kashim Ibrahim Deputy Comptroller Admin. PTML, Nigeria Customs Service, Apapa LagosIn the late hours of August 16, 2022, after closing from work at about 5.20pm a police officer wanted to kill me with my driver along ijora via national theater, he had to force him self on tho my legs on the sit beside the driver, dragging the steering and the key, and the other one dragging the driver forcing him out of the car ,and cocking his gun even after his O/C giving order to go , he insisted to kill one of us. “Lagos police are not Nigeria police, when I identify my self with my identity card the thing became worst that i will regret it, he is working for Lagos state governor not federal government, it all sounded fishy”.
“I will kill you if you move,” he threatened
The deputy compt urged the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to conduct a speedy and thorough investigation into the matter.

El’amin International School Minna: Taraba students are making us proud- Hon. Baraya

Hon. Edward Baraya, the Taraba State Commissioner for Tertiary Education says the students sponsored by the state government currently studying at the El’amin International Secondary School in Minna, Niger State are making the state proud with their performance so far.

Baraya the assertion while fielding questions from journalists in his office in Jalingo, the capital city.

He described the award of scholarships to ten (10) students to study at the school by Governor Darius Ishaku as one of the major achievements recorded by the present administration in the education sector.

According to him, the students were selected from each of the three Senatorial zones of the state aimed at cross-fertilizing ideas and getting them exposed to schools outside the state.

Hon. Edward Baraya explained that already the state government had paid off all the expenses involved for those that are in JSS 1-3 as well as those who started from SS1-3 for the whole three academic sessions.

He revealed that two out of the ten students had won prizes during the speech and prize-giving day organized by the school held recently which he attended.

” That is to say that our students are good ambassadors and they are making us proud in that area. Another thing this ministry had achieved out of many was the employment of more staff by His Excellency, Governor Darius Ishaku, to replace those that have been retired and the deceased ones in all the institutions,” Baraya added.

Hon. Edward Baraya who is the pioneer commissioner of the ministry that was established in 2019, recalled that when he assumed duty, he embarked on a familiarization visit to all Tertiary institutions under the ministry that including Taraba State University, College of Education Zing, and the Taraba State Polytechnic where he saw things for himself and a lot had been done in terms of development in all the institutions under the present administration.

” I’m proud to say that, based on the affirmation achievements in the education sector by His Excellency, His Excellency was awarded the 2020 Governor of the year on education by the Blueprint Newspaper on the 3rd January 2021,”. Baraya recalled.

However, Hon. Edward Baraya urged the next governor that will succeed Governor Ishaku to build on the structure that he was able to set up for the development of the state.

Taraba Forum of Islamic Preachers lauds Gov. Ishaku over 2022 Hajj

The Taraba State Forum of Islamic Preacher’s ha appreciated Governor Darius Ishaku for his support of the successful Hajj exercise.

The Chairman of the Forum, Ustaz Huseni Isma’il made the commendation while speaking to Journalists in Jalingo.

He said the governor deserves to be praised for sponsoring over one hundred Muslim pilgrims.

The chairman also thanked the governor for giving all the pilgrims from the state money as a Sallah gift.

According to Ustaz Huseni Isma’il, Governor Ishaku also approved the additional three million nairas (#3,000,000) for contribution to the National healthcare services among others.

He, however, revealed that the governor further distributed rams to many Muslims during the last Eid-el Adha.

Commenting on forthcoming elections, Ustaz Huseni Isma’il called on Islamic scholars in the state to avoid using their podiums during sermons or preaching to cause disunity between Christians and Muslims.

“Some of these scholars who are preaching hatred between the Christians and Muslims have become politicians because if it is not money they are looking for they should not forget that even during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) he lived with Christians in peace,” Ustaz Isma’il reminded.

He, therefore, urged the people to continue praying for the state, Nigeria, and the present administration of Governor Darius Ishaku, as well as give maximum support and cooperation to the state government by living in peace to enable the governor to achieve his desired aims of developing the state.

Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has restated his commitment towards enhanced quality of life of the people.

The governor stated this through his Senior Special Assistant on Higher Education, Dr. Usaini Akilu (Jarma), at the seventh Arewa Media Practitioners Annual Award for national development and Lecture on Good Governance in Leadership, held at Murtala Mohammed Library Kano.

Governor Ganduje said his administration has accorded priority to human and physical Development to improve the quality of lives of people of kano state.

He added that emphasis was also shifted towards transforming the Education and health sectors to promote Development in all ramification.

The governor how ever described this year’s awards and Lecture series by the Arewa Media Practitioners as commendable and encouraging towards national development.

He assured of his administrations continuous support and announced One Million Naira donation to the organization to boost it activities.

Also speaking at the occasion, Professor Garba Shehu chairman of the occasion,band Executive secretary kano state Education Development support showered encomiums on the leadership of the arewa media Practitioners for excelling in the noble Journalism profession, and in uniting the Society.

He noted that poverty, unemployment, inequality, illiteracy and poor governance are causative agents of in security.

In a lecture titled “NIGERIAN ECONOMY AND THE CHALLENGES OF INSECURITY :- ISSUES AND IMPLICATIONS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE” By Professor Daud Mustapha on behalf of the Vice Chancellor federal university Dutshinma, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi, described the occasion as timely towards promoting peace, security and good governance in the country.

He described that despite it wealth and abundant resources Nigeria is one of the poorest oil producing countries and the headquarters of poverty in the world.

In his remark, the President Arewa Media Practitioners, Comrade Musa Mohammed said the annual lecture and awards organized by the organization is targed at promoting cohesion and national unity.

Comrade Musa Mohammed therefore extolled the virtues of governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his transperant leadership and in transforming Kano state.

 You were always around us,  we really miss you and your honest fatherly advice. Your sudden death came as a rude shock.We did not expect it and wish we had more time to continue to appreciate you. The Medical Director/CEO, Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State Dr. Aliyu Hamza Balarabe, will on Tuesday, 2nd August 2022, honour with the award for “Epitome Of Humility”.

The award presentation ceremony will take place in FMC Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state.

The National President of the Arewa Media Practitioners and also the acting President of West Africa Political Writers Association, Comrade Musa Mohammed said that the medical director of the FMC Birnin kebbi is a worthy recipient of the award “because for his key role in services in the health and humanitarian sector.

“We recognized Dr. Aliyu’s hard work, outstanding performance over the years and his immense contributions to the country and humanity”.

The President stressed that the recipient was carefully chosen from a poll the associations conducted that covered more than 5,000 respondents. “Asides that, we decided that we will identify people that are instituting fiscal reforms in their organization, as regards transparency, accountability and probity”.

And the award selection committee which consists prominent and interlectuals, their findings revealed Dr. Aliyu’s prudent management of public resources, accountability, transparency and good Administration, that’s why they considered him”, he added.

ENGR. ABUBAKAR MATAZU BAGS AREWA MEDIA AWARD.

Hon. Engr. Abubakar Abdullahi Matazu has been presented with the “Arewa Media Practitioners Leadership Award of Excellence” by the AREWA MEDIA PRACTITIONERS.

Speaking after the award ceremony in Katsina, Engr. Abubakar Matazu, thanked the Arewa Media Practitioners and expressed appreciation for the award, stressing that it would encourage him to be more dedicated and hardworking in future.

Engr. Matazu said, the award will be a moral booster for him.

Earlier, the leader of the Arewa Media Practitioners delegation, Comrade Musa Mohammed said the award bestowed to Hon. Engr. Matazu in recognition of his accomplishments as a distinguished politician who has done much in the various sector in katsina state.

Comrade Mohammed added that the Engr. Matazu’s experience had enabled him prioritise self-reliance, while bringing governance closer to the people, emphasising that the award was presented to him and others like him to encourage and motivate them for better performance, commitment and dedication.
