Governor Uba Sani Deepens Educational Transformation with Massive School Construction and Renovation Across Kaduna State

Education remains the strongest pillar for building a prosperous society, and in Kaduna State, the administration of Governor Senator Uba Sani has continued to demonstrate a clear and unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child has access to quality education. The recent groundbreaking ceremony performed by the Governor in Rigasa for the construction of 102 new schools and the renovation of 170 others across the state stands as another bold step toward securing a brighter future for the children of Kaduna.

This landmark initiative is not merely about erecting buildings. It is a carefully thought-out strategy aimed at drastically reducing the number of out of school children in Kaduna State and creating an environment where every child can learn with dignity. By expanding educational infrastructure across communities, especially at the grassroots level, the administration is laying a solid foundation for generations yet unborn.

Governor Uba Sani understands that education is the most powerful tool for social transformation. When children are given access to classrooms, trained teachers, and safe learning environments, the entire society benefits. This is why his administration has continued to invest massively in the education sector with a clear vision of ensuring that every child in Kaduna State has a desk to sit on and a roof over their head while learning.

The groundbreaking ceremony in Rigasa is a continuation of the Governor’s already impressive record in education development. In his first year in office alone, Senator Uba Sani constructed 62 new schools across Kaduna State. Recognizing that the demand for educational facilities continues to grow due to population expansion and the need to accommodate more children, the administration moved swiftly into the second phase which added another 50 schools.

These efforts reflect a leadership that is proactive and forward looking. Governor Uba Sani is not waiting for the future to arrive before planning for it. Instead, he is deliberately building the infrastructure needed to support a strong educational system that will serve Kaduna State for decades.

The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board has played a pivotal role in translating this vision into concrete results. Under the guidance and support of the Governor, the board has embarked on one of the most extensive educational infrastructure development programs ever witnessed in the history of the state.

So far, the administration has successfully built 736 new classrooms and renovated 1,220 existing classrooms across various communities. This massive intervention has significantly improved the learning environment for thousands of pupils who previously studied under difficult conditions.

Security and safety within schools have also received attention. The government has constructed perimeter fencing in 39 schools in order to create safe learning environments for pupils and teachers. This initiative ensures that schools are protected spaces where learning can take place without fear or disruption.

Equally important is the administration’s commitment to improving sanitation and health facilities within schools. To support this objective, the government has constructed 595 VIP toilets and installed 165 hand pump boreholes in various schools across the state. These facilities have helped to promote hygiene, prevent disease outbreaks, and provide pupils with access to clean water.

One of the most innovative aspects of Governor Uba Sani’s education policy is the establishment of bilingual education schools. Four of such schools have already been established in Igabi, Zaria, Kubau, and Giwa local government areas. These schools currently serve about 7,680 learners and are designed to provide inclusive education that accommodates diverse linguistic backgrounds.

In addition, the state government has built a modern and state of the art school in Tudun Biri, demonstrating that every community, regardless of its location, deserves access to high quality educational facilities.

Recognizing that a conducive learning environment also requires adequate furniture, the administration has supplied 81,540 pieces of school furniture across various schools. This intervention has ensured that pupils can now learn comfortably rather than sitting on bare floors or overcrowded benches.

Beyond basic education, Governor Uba Sani has also shown remarkable foresight by linking education to economic empowerment. The establishment of nine vocational centres across Kaduna State is a strategic move aimed at bridging the gap between education and employment. These centres are designed to equip young people with practical skills that will enable them to become self reliant and contribute meaningfully to the economy.

The cumulative impact of these interventions is already being felt across Kaduna State. Communities that once struggled with inadequate school facilities are now witnessing the emergence of modern educational infrastructure. Parents are increasingly encouraged to send their children to school, knowing that the government is committed to providing a supportive learning environment.

Governor Uba Sani’s approach to governance clearly demonstrates that development must reach the grassroots. His administration is focused on ensuring that no child is left behind and that every community benefits from the dividends of good governance.

Indeed, the Governor is not merely constructing buildings; he is building hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for the people of Kaduna State. Through his deliberate investments in education, he is empowering the next generation with the knowledge and skills needed to transform society.

History will undoubtedly remember this period as a turning point in the educational development of Kaduna State. Governor Uba Sani’s dedication to expanding access to education and improving learning conditions stands as a testament to visionary leadership and genuine commitment to human capital development.

As the construction of the 102 new schools begins and the renovation of 170 others progresses, the people of Kaduna State can look forward to a future where education becomes the strongest weapon against poverty, insecurity, and underdevelopment.

Governor Uba Sani has once again demonstrated that leadership is about action, commitment, and the courage to invest in the future of the people.

Consensus As Strategy: The Political Craft Of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf

By Barrister Aminu Hussaini Sagagi

The recent peaceful Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, which produced a new Executive Committee through consensus, was not a coincidence of convenience. It was a demonstration of leadership that’s deliberate, strategic and visionary.

In a political climate where party congresses too often descend into rancour, factional bitterness and courtroom battles, Kano has just offered Nigeria a masterclass in democratic maturity. At the center of this political recalibration stands His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf, APC Governor of Kano State.

Consensus in Nigerian politics is often misunderstood. It is lazily dismissed as imposition or elite bargaining. But what unfolded in Kano State tells a different story. It was not the silencing of voices; it was the harmonization of interests. It was not suppression; it was statesmanship.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s leadership style has increasingly proven to be anchored in consultation rather than confrontation. In a state with deep political history and vibrant grassroots participation, achieving such a rancor-free Party Congress required more than procedural compliance, it demanded moral authority and trust capital. Both were evidently deployed by Governor Yusuf.

Political watchers know that party congresses are litmus tests. They reveal the undercurrents within a party. They expose fractures. They measure loyalty. The Kano APC Congress, instead, projected unity. Leaders and stakeholders subordinated personal ambitions to collective stability. That does not happen organically. It happens when leadership signals that cohesion is non-negotiable and fairness is guaranteed.

The Governor’s influence in fostering dialogue among elders, mobilizing party stakeholders and encouraging consensus cannot be overstated. By promoting a framework where grievances were addressed internally and agreements reached through deliberation, he elevated politics from transactional maneuvering to responsible stewardship.

More importantly, this Congress sends a message beyond party lines. It demonstrates that Kano’s political class can choose order over chaos, collaboration over conflict and institutional strength over factional dominance.

At a time when democratic processes across the country are strained by litigation and post-congress animosity, Kano has shown that political maturity is still possible. And that maturity thrives where leadership is firm, inclusive and forward-looking.

History will likely record this Congress not merely as an internal party event, but as a moment when political leadership in Kano pivoted toward stability and strategic unity. The new Executive Committee emerges not from bruising contest, but from collective endorsement; a symbolic and practical reset.

The greater test now lies ahead; translating this internal harmony into public-facing governance dividends and stronger political organization. But if the Congress is any indication, the foundation has been carefully and solidly laid.
In politics, peace is rarely accidental. In Kano, it appears intentional. And intentional peace is the signature of leadership.

Why Kaduna Citizens Should Support the Re Election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027

The Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Barrister Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar Mairago, has called on the good people of Kaduna State to continue their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking through the platform of the Mairago Vanguard for Tinubu and Uba Sani 2027, Barrister Mairago emphasized that the people of Kaduna State have every reason to stand firmly behind the re election of President Tinubu because of the unprecedented level of development and federal presence the state has enjoyed under his administration.

Barrister Mairago noted that leadership should always be judged by tangible results and visible commitment to the welfare of the people. According to him, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the development of Kaduna State through strategic projects and policies that are already transforming the social and economic landscape of the state.

One of the most significant achievements of the Tinubu administration in Kaduna State is the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia. The institution, which was established in 2025, is the first of its kind in Nigeria with a focus on applied sciences and technological innovation. The university occupies about 270 hectares of land and is designed to promote research driven education that supports national industrial development. For the people of Southern Kaduna and the entire state, the institution will create employment opportunities, stimulate economic activities and provide access to quality higher education for thousands of Nigerian youths.

Barrister Mairago also highlighted the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan as another major intervention by the Tinubu administration. The hospital was created through the conversion of the Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital into a federal medical facility in order to expand access to advanced healthcare services. The medical centre is expected to serve millions of people across Southern Kaduna and neighboring states while creating thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities for health professionals and support staff.

According to Barrister Mairago, President Tinubu has also demonstrated visionary leadership through his commitment to modern transportation infrastructure in Kaduna State. The Federal Government has approved and supported the construction of the Kaduna Light Rail system with funding estimated at about one hundred billion naira. When completed, Kaduna will become the second state in Nigeria after Lagos to operate a light rail system. This development will significantly improve urban mobility, reduce traffic congestion and enhance economic productivity within the state capital and surrounding communities.

The NIMASA Board Chairman further pointed out that the Tinubu administration has also prioritized agricultural development in Kaduna State through the establishment of one of the largest poultry development projects in Sub Saharan Africa. The Mega Integrated Poultry Development Project valued at about two hundred million dollars is expected to transform the agricultural sector in the state. The project will generate hundreds of thousands of direct and indirect jobs, support thousands of small and medium scale enterprises and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s food security.

Barrister Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar Mairago stressed that these projects are clear evidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recognizes the strategic importance of Kaduna State in Nigeria’s national development agenda. He noted that beyond these landmark projects, the state has continued to benefit from federal infrastructure interventions, economic development programs and policies that support peace, stability and growth.

He therefore called on the people of Kaduna State to reciprocate this commitment by supporting the re election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. According to him, continuity in leadership is essential for the successful completion of ongoing projects and the expansion of development initiatives that will further improve the lives of citizens.

Barrister Mairago also commended the leadership of Governor Uba Sani for working closely with the Federal Government to ensure that Kaduna State continues to attract meaningful development and investment. He said the strong partnership between the Kaduna State Government and the Federal Government has created a conducive environment for progress and prosperity.

The Mairago Vanguard for Tinubu and Uba Sani 2027 therefore believes that the best path forward for Kaduna State is to continue supporting leaders who have demonstrated genuine commitment to the welfare and progress of the people.

For Barrister Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar Mairago, the message is simple and clear: when leadership delivers visible results, the people should reward such leadership with continued support. Kaduna State has benefited immensely under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the people of the state should therefore stand united in supporting his second term bid in 2027.

Renewed Hope Ambassadors inspect Abuja Secretariat, Governors, Senators and Stakeholders Attend

The leadership of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, under the guidance of the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, on Friday carried out a strategic inspection of the group’s Abuja Secretariat.

This marks a significant step in consolidating the nationwide grassroots mobilisation drive recently unveiled by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under his Renewed Hope Agenda.

The inspection signals the formal activation of the Secretariat as a national coordination hub for the movement’s outreach, stakeholder engagement, and policy communication efforts across the six geopolitical zones.

It comes at a critical time, as the administration intensifies efforts to communicate ongoing reforms and deepen citizen participation in governance.

The visit was coordinated by the Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, whose role in galvanising institutional and political support reflects the growing synergy between government policy drivers and grassroots mobilisation structures.

Dr. Abdullahi emphasised the importance of aligning advocacy, public enlightenment, and stakeholder engagement with the administration’s broader economic transformation objectives.

In attendance were prominent political leaders and influential voices within the ruling party and the national polity, including former Governor of Katsina State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari; former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Tanko Al-Makura; former Senate President, Senator Pius Anyim; Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi; Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Mr. Sunday Dare; and Senior Special Assistant to the President on New Media, Mr. Otega Ogra.

Their presence underscored a broad coalition of political experience and strategic communication expertise, reinforcing the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ mandate to serve as a bridge between government policies and the Nigerian people.

Observers note that the initiative is designed not merely as a political support structure, but as a platform for policy advocacy, citizen feedback, and structured engagement aimed at translating the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible community-level impact.

Key focus areas include economic recovery, energy transition, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, food security, and digital innovation.

The convergence of governors, senators, presidential media aides, and zonal coordinators highlights the expanding momentum behind the initiative and reflects a coordinated effort to institutionalize grassroots participation in governance.

As the Secretariat becomes fully operational, expectations are high that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will play a pivotal role in mobilising national consensus, strengthening party cohesion, and sustaining public confidence in the administration’s reform agenda.

The Abuja inspection therefore represents more than a routine visit — it signals the operational take-off of a nationwide movement structured to drive engagement, amplify government achievements, and consolidate support for President Tinubu’s vision of inclusive growth and national renewal.

Tinubu’s North-West Fortress Solidifies: Uba Sani Mobilizes Southern Kaduna as CG Musa Powers APC Momentum

A Southern Kaduna activist, Steven Kefas, has launched a blistering attack on former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, over his recent comments on national security and citizens’ wellbeing.

El-Rufai, who governed Kaduna State between 2015 and 2023, had taken to his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), to share a commentary titled “National Security, Justice, and the People’s Wellbeing: Reclaiming the Purpose of Power.” In the post, the former governor reflected on governance, justice, and the need for leaders to prioritise the safety and welfare of citizens.

However, Kefas, a vocal rights advocate from Southern Kaduna, responded sharply, accusing El-Rufai of lacking the moral authority to speak on security matters.

“You, amongst all people, do not have the moral standing to talk about security and the people’s wellbeing,” Kefas wrote on his X handle. “You are one of the architects of the insecurity facing our dear country today.”

Kefas’ reaction has since sparked widespread debate on social media, reopening long-standing controversies surrounding El-Rufai’s handling of security challenges during his eight-year tenure as governor.

Kaduna State ,particularly Southern Kaduna, witnessed repeated incidents of banditry, communal clashes, and deadly attacks on rural communities during El-Rufai’s administration. Human rights organisations and community leaders frequently criticised his government over its response to violence, alleged insensitivity to victims, and policies which critics claimed exacerbated ethnic and religious tensions.

While El-Rufai consistently defended his security strategies, maintaining that his administration worked closely with federal authorities and security agencies, critics argue that many communities remained vulnerable, with thousands displaced and numerous lives lost.

Kefas’ remarks reflect the views of several Southern Kaduna activists who have long accused the former governor of downplaying attacks in the region and failing to adequately protect minority communities.

The exchange comes amid renewed national conversations on insecurity, governance accountability, and the role of past leaders in shaping Nigeria’s current security challenges.

It would be recalled that in 2019, Kefas—who has been a persistent critic of El-Rufai—was arrested and detained in Kaduna, reportedly on alleged “orders from above,” an incident that further heightened tensions between the activist and the former governor’s administration.

Operation 19 Million Votes Commends Appointment of Uba Sani as Deputy DG,

…Says Move Boosts National Mobilisation and Renewed Hope Agenda

A prominent political advocacy group, Operation 19 Million Votes, has warmly welcomed the recent appointment of Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, as Deputy Director-General and Renewed Hope Ambassador in the All Progressives Congress (APC) mobilisation structure, saying the development is set to strengthen national confidence, deepen youth engagement and galvanise support for the party’s agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as National Leader of the APC, on February 17, 2026, appointed Governor Sani to serve as Deputy Director-General (Deputy DG) of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors,a strategic outreach, engagement and mobilisation arm of the ruling party, in recognition of his “leadership and organisational abilities.” The appointment took effect immediately.

In a statement released by Operation 19 Million Votes today, the group described the appointment as timely and visionary, stating that Governor Sani’s political experience and grassroots appeal will be invaluable in strengthening the party’s footprint across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

According to the group’s national spokesperson, Comrade Haruna Musa Mohammed, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative, which is charged with promoting the APC’s policy achievements and engaging citizens nationwide , requires leaders with broad national appeal, strategic insight, and credibility among diverse constituencies.

The appointment of Sani, who hails from the North West and enjoys bipartisan respect, was said to reflect a commitment to inclusive leadership. The elders and youth wings of the organisation further noted that Gov. Sani’s mobilisational capacities particularly among young voters and traditional leaders will be an asset in shaping favourable perceptions of governance programmes under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The statement further stated,”Operation 19 Million Votes emphasised that the renewed Hope Ambassadors structure must focus on substantive engagements on governance impact, job creation, security dialogue, and voter education, particularly at the grassroots and community levels , areas the group believes will determine electoral outcomes in 2027.

“We believe that the appointment of Governor Uba Sani is not just symbolic but strategic. His role as Deputy Director-General and Renewed Hope Ambassador places him at the centre of public assurance, enabling constructive dialogue between government policies and citizens’ daily realities.”

President Tinubu, in a congratulatory letter to Governor Sani, tasked him with galvanising, promoting and disseminating the party’s programmes, policies, milestones and achievements nationwide, with the goal of strengthening public confidence and reinforcing the Renewed Hope message across the country.

According to the statement, the appointment is also part of broader party efforts to position the APC effectively ahead of the 2027 elections, underscoring the importance of unity and coordinated outreach strategies among key party stakeholders.

Governor Sani ,who was elected Governor of Kaduna State in 2023 , has been involved in national party affairs over time and is seen by supporters as a consensus builder who can bridge divides among party structures and regional interests.

The advocacy group’s endorsement of his appointment signals early support from key civil society actors, highlighting the growing intersection between organised civic action and mainstream political mobilisation in Nigeria’s evolving democratic landscape.

Christian Pilgrimage: Kaduna Christian Group Commends Uba Sani, Condemns El-Rufai

A faith-based advocacy group, Christian Forum for Peaceful and United Kaduna, has commended Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for reinstating the Christian pilgrimage scheme in the state, describing the move as bold, inclusive and a step toward rebuilding trust between government and the Christian community.

The group, in a statement issued in Kaduna, applauded the governor for approving the 2025 Christian pilgrimage and facilitating an orientation programme for 50 intending pilgrims held on February 17, 2026.

In the statement signed by the Secretary , Reverend Ishaya Bulus ,the group said, “The development marks the return of the programme after it was suspended in 2015 by former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, whose administration also scrapped the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Agency.

According to the forum, the reinstatement signals a renewed commitment to fairness and religious harmony in the state.

“We commend Governor Uba Sani for taking a courageous and just decision to reinstate the Christian pilgrimage scheme. This is a testament to inclusivity, equity and a genuine desire to strengthen unity among the diverse religious communities in Kaduna State,” the statement read.

The group recalled that it had strongly criticised the suspension of the scheme under the previous administration, arguing that it denied Christians in the state the opportunity to undertake pilgrimage to the Holy Land and offer prayers for peace and progress in Nigeria.

It noted that the return of the programme represents what it described as a departure from an atmosphere it perceived as unfavourable to Christians during the last administration.

“Today, a milestone has been achieved. The return of the pilgrimage programme demonstrates that government policies can be reviewed in the interest of justice and unity. It restores confidence among Christian faithful who felt marginalised,” the forum added.

“We are happy that Governor Sani’s administration has framed the reinstatement as part of broader efforts to promote religious harmony, inclusiveness and fairness in governance. We are also glad that the government has also emphasised the need to rebuild relationships with faith-based organisations across the state.

However, the Christian Forum further linked the development to what it described as improved security in Southern Kaduna, noting that the relative calm being experienced in recent months stands in contrast to the insecurity and tensions witnessed in previous years.

The group which condemned the decision of the former Governor,Mal Nasir Elrufai to suspend the pilgrimage scheme, urged the Governor Uba Sani to sustain policies that promote peace, equity and mutual respect among Kaduna’s diverse ethnic and religious groups.

Elrufai marginalized Christians in Kaduna and planted seed of discord and hatred amongst the two main religions. But we thank God ,Uba Sani has uprooted all those trees that hitherto created the cracks .

“Kaduna State, known for its complex religious and ethnic composition, has in the past grappled with sectarian tensions, it against this background that we say initiatives aimed at fostering inclusion and interfaith cooperation remain critical to consolidating peace and stability in the state.” It stated .
