BREAKING: PRAISES FOR UBA SANI AS KADUNA’S IGR HITS ₦19.5bn IN Q1

Kaduna State generated ₦19.5 billion in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the first quarter of 2025 — a feat that has drawn widespread commendation and renewed confidence in Governor Uba Sani’s bold economic reforms.

The strong Q1 performance, revealed at the state’s quarterly revenue review meeting, highlights the momentum behind the administration’s drive for fiscal sustainability and inclusive development.

The Kaduna Economic Advancement League (KADECAL), a civil society group tracking fiscal transparency and development, was quick to applaud the governor’s performance. In a statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Habeeb Bello Chikaji, KADECAL said the IGR surge reflects “the bold, people-focused leadership of Governor Uba Sani and the results of real work, not empty slogans.”

According to the group, Kaduna is witnessing a silent economic revolution, backed by smart policy choices and massive capital injections into key sectors. KADECAL cited several actions by the governor that have turbocharged the state’s economy and inspired renewed public confidence.

Top on the list is the injection of over ₦100 billion into the water supply sector — long plagued by neglect and erratic service. “Dry taps used to define urban and rural life in Kaduna, but that’s changing fast,” the group said. “The governor’s decisive investment has set the state on course for 100% steady water supply by December.”

The group also hailed the clearance of ₦800 million salary arrears owed to Kaduna State Water Corporation staff. “By clearing the backlog, the governor restored dignity to workers and re-energised water services across the state,” KADECAL noted.

Equally commended was the full payment of a ₦1.3 billion electricity debt that had crippled water infrastructure. Uba Sani’s intervention ensured uninterrupted power supply to water stations — “a practical solution that many before him failed to muster.”

On infrastructure, KADECAL highlighted the award of 78 new roads covering 775 kilometres across the state, describing it as “a legacy-defining road revolution” that is opening rural economies, boosting trade, and slashing travel time.

The group also applauded the governor’s recent intervention to rescue Kaduna-sponsored students stranded abroad due to unpaid fees and stipends. “By disbursing over $247,000 (₦407.9 million) to clear tuition backlogs in countries like Cuba, Hungary, the UAE, and Uganda, Governor Uba Sani didn’t just protect Kaduna’s global academic reputation — he gave those students a lifeline,” Chikaji said.

“Governor Uba Sani isn’t just ticking boxes — he’s tackling long-standing problems head-on. The ₦19.5bn IGR performance is a direct result of that resolve,” the statement concluded, urging citizens to support the administration’s drive toward economic renewal and inclusive growth.

The Pathetic Tale of Mr. LA — Kaduna Central’s Most Embarrassing Error

Once upon a time in the political wilderness of Kaduna Central, a mistake happened. His name: Lawal Adamu Usman—popularly called Mr. LA, but more fittingly described as a political misadventure wrapped in arrogance. Somehow, by the grace of propaganda and the silence of critical voters, this man found himself in the hallowed chambers of the Nigerian Senate.

And what has Kaduna Central gotten in return? Nothing but tweets, tantrums, and terrible representation.

Mr. LA has managed to reduce the dignity of his office to that of a rowdy bystander in a motor park debate. His recent shameful conduct toward the respected Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin of Kano North-West, exposed a deeper truth: Mr. LA has no respect for leadership, hierarchy, or Northern values. Instead of learning from the wisdom of experienced statesmen, he prefers to bark on social media like a child who missed his school bus.

But the most disgraceful chapter in this tragicomedy was when Mr. LA, using his verified handle, launched an unprovoked and highly disrespectful attack on former President Muhammadu Buhari—an elder statesman, a national icon, and a symbol of integrity in Northern politics. Why? Because the former President didn’t attend a Northwest Stakeholders meeting of the APC. That alone became grounds for insult in Mr. LA’s petty mind. He didn’t pause to consider if the former President had a valid reason, didn’t make inquiries, didn’t show any iota of statesmanship. He simply rushed to ridicule—recklessly and foolishly.

What Mr. LA forgets is that leadership is not earned by insults, but by integrity. Former President Buhari may not be your party man, but his legacy stands taller than your entire Senate career. To mock a figure of such stature without provocation is to dig your own political grave.

This is why, come 2027, the people of Kaduna Central must rise and punish this mistake. Let us send Mr. LA back—not to the Senate—but to a political nursery class in Dubai where he can complete the lessons he obviously missed. Politics is not for loudmouths with poor emotional intelligence. It is for thinkers, bridge-builders, and those who respect the weight of the office they hold.

And there is no shortage of true leaders in Kaduna Central waiting to restore that dignity.

The APC is blessed with a rising generation of responsible, visionary, and respectful minds—men like Comrade Shehu Sani, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Zailani, Sardaunan Bardarawa, Malam Aminu Zaria—patriots and tested allies of Senator Uba Sani and firm believers in the legacy of President Buhari. Any one of them would be a hundred times more mature, capable, and politically disciplined than the political lollipop currently occupying the seat.

It is a tragedy that such an unserious, disrespectful amateur is representing us on the floor of the Senate—when he cannot even speak coherently on critical issues affecting our people, like the insecurity in Chikun, Birnin Gwari, and Kajuru. We cannot continue to be led by a man who talks more on Twitter than he works in the chamber.

Mr. LA’s disgraceful behavior is a wake-up call. Kaduna Central deserves better. Nigeria deserves better.

And in 2027, we must do better.

Speaker Yusuf Dahiru Liman: A Leader of the People

By Abdulraman Tonga-Yusuf

Dahiru Liman, the current Speaker of the 10th Kaduna State House of Assembly, has emerged as a formidable force in Kaduna politics — a leader whose impact resonates both in his Makera Constituency and across Kaduna State.

Since assuming office, Speaker Liman has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the overall development of the state.Under his stewardship, the Assembly has passed landmark legislations, most notably the 2025 Appropriation Bill, which channels substantial resources to critical sectors such as education, health, finance, and agriculture. This reflects Speaker Liman’s resolve to ensure inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Beyond legislative achievements, Speaker Liman has championed accountability and transparency in governance. The Assembly, under his leadership, has launched investigations into reckless expenditures and abandoned projects inherited from the previous administration. Notably, contractors who collected payments but failed to deliver have been called to account, with several cases referred to appropriate financial investigative bodies.Liman’s commitment to grassroots empowerment is equally commendable.

In a remarkable display of community investment, he recently spent N40 million to cover the 2025 NECO registration fees for students in Kaduna South Local Government. This singular act of generosity has brought relief and hope to countless families and reaffirmed his belief in education as a catalyst for social change.Speaker Liman also maintains a leadership style rooted in collaboration.

His strong working relationship with Governor Uba Sani has ensured the timely passage of critical bills and facilitated the execution of developmental projects across the state.

This synergy between the executive and legislative arms has significantly contributed to the current peace and progress Kaduna is experiencing.Indeed, the improved security, economic stability, and infrastructural development witnessed in the state today are, in part, a result of Speaker Liman’s pragmatic and people-centered leadership. His selfless service and steadfast commitment continue to set a high standard for effective representation and responsible governance.

Nigerians In Diaspora Back Out of Planned Protest Against Mele Kyari

Nigerians based in United States under the umbrella of Nigerians in Diaspora for Peace and Unity today withdrawn its earlier decision to embark on Protest against for Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Engineer Mele Kyari on suspicion that it was sponsored.

According to group with its headquarters in Washington D.C, it didn’t get its facts right, when the decision to embark on the Protest was made, thus was misled to believe that Kyari mismanaged the country’s oil company.

“We were ready to move to the street to protest because we were made to believe Kyari fled Nigeria to avoid accountability for financial misconduct during his six-year tenure at NNPCL from 2019 to 2025.” It stated .

It was widely reported that that hundreds of Nigerians had protested at the Nigerian High Commission and the UK Home Office in London, calling for the deportation of former Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) boss, Mele Kyari, to face corruption investigations in Nigeria.

In a statement issued and made available to journalists today, the Nigerians in Diaspora for Peace and Unity announced that it has withdrawn from the planned protest schedule for Friday and orders members across United and United Kingdom to comply with the directive.

The group in the statement signed by the Chairman ,Chief Sebastian West Lokpobiri explained: “We did set a 10-man fact finding committee ahead of the scheduled date for the protest and later discovered that the former NNPCL boss rather did well to reposition the company and shouldn’t be ridiculed

The statement further reads : “We also discovered that NNPCL under Kyari was not only revived to produce refined Petrol for our teeming population, but it operational lines were transparent; effective and profit oriented.

“As group,we don’t take actions blindly without digging up the facts behind any issue raised from public discourse or disenchantment. It is against this background that we have decided to suspend action to embark on protest.

“We therefore advise other groups that have been misled or sponsored to protest to suspend action and commend Kyari efforts to resuscitate our once comatose oil company.”

Sacking Service Chiefs Not Solution To Security Situation — Comrade Musa Mohammed

Comrade Musa Mohammed a Kaduna based journalist and public analyst reacted to the call for the sack of service chiefs.

In an interview with newsmen in Kaduna, Comrade Mohammed urged the President not to be pressured into sacking service chiefs.

He said, Nigerians have been calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sack the service chiefs in light of the recent growing insecurity in Borno state and Nigeria at large.

Mohammed further stated that, sacking the security heads wouldn’t solve the problem.

“Sacking the security heads would not solve the problem, the President knows what the issues are”.

“Whatever happens, the president is the right arbiter, and he knows where it pinches, he knows where the problems are, i think the decision should be left to him, he should not be pushed or prompted in this regard.”

“The Boko Haram insurgency was at a phase where everyone, including lawmakers must collectively work together to end the terror reign”.

“That’s why when people say a particular leaders in the military should be removed for whatever reason, it sounds very odd”.

“The brazen assault on the 153 Task Force Battalion in Marte LGA on May 12, 2025, epitomizes this alarming trend. In a pre-dawn attack, insurgents overran the base, killed and captured soldiers, looted the armoury, and destroyed military vehicles and equipment. This attack is not an isolated incident but part of a broader, calculated campaign”.

He noted that, the situation in the Northeast is nearing a tipping point. Without decisive, intelligent, and relentless action, Nigeria risks slipping back into a full-scale insurgency with dire humanitarian, economic, and security consequences.

“The time for half-measures is over, nigrian troops must be empowered and directed to finish the fight”.

He further stated that, adequate funding and support for Nigeria’s service chiefs are crucial for maintaining national security and stability which includes, addressing challenges like funding, logistics, and manpower.

“The government and legislative bodies should provide the necessary resources to ensure the service chiefs can effectively carry out their duties”.

“Adequate funding is essential for the Nigerian Armed Forces to procure necessary equipment, train personnel, and ensure operational effectiveness”.

“Nigerians should know that there are a lot of challenges Facing the Service Chiefs, which related to funding, logistics, and manpower, indicating a need for increased support”.

“By providing adequate funding and support, the government can enhance the ability of the service chiefs to maintain peace and stability in the country”.

“Also Nigerians should should know that Boko Haram are using sophisticated weapons ‘Arm drones’ weaponize drones’, they are more sophisticated advanced than Nigerian army, and the equipments which the military are using, the high dollar rate had hampered the purchase of relevant equipment needed to fight insecurity, our troops finding it difficult to neutralize the Boko Haram”.

“All the items procured are bought with hard currency, none in naira, and that most times when funds are converted, only very little could be bought”.

“So, there is hope in the horizon, the service chiefs are doing their best, the president of federal republic of nigeria should support them now, they are equal to the task”.

“We must agree that the service chiefs has performed above average in the fight against insurgency, and
i beg National executive including the Legislatures to give them opportunity to work and resolve the issues”, Comrade Mohammed added.
