Aminu Lawal Anty: Spreading the Dividends of Democracy‌

By Comrade Musa Mohammed

The member kaduna state house of assembly representing Doka/Gabasawa Constituency, Hon. Aminu Lawal Anty, empowerment programme has been generally described as the mother of all empowerment initiatives.

One common trend associated with seekers of elective positions in the nations polity is their penchant to make all manner of promises during their campaigns to the electorate in order to win their sympathy and get their votes during elections.

However, it is a general belief that after getting the mandate of the people most of the politicians never keep to the promises they made to the electorate while campaigning.

Cases abound where constituents have complained that their elected representatives have never visited their constituencies since they were elected into the legislative.

So, for constituents who have had the experience of their representatives not returning home, even frequently as expected, their conclusion is that they have no representation or representative, in reality, except in name.

However, some of the elected lawmakers still maintain close relationship with their constituents; render to them the necessary extra-legislative services.

The representative of Doka/Gabasawa Constituency, Hon. Aminu Lawal Anty, seems to belong to the latter category of elected politicians.

Within his constituency, Aminu is reputed to be one of the lawmakers from the state that makes out time, periodically, to visit those he is representing at the grassroots, to consult with them, and supply them with some droplets of what is generally referred to as economic empowerment.

The legislature previous programmes brought the number of beneficiaries from his benevolent representation to over 500 since he became a state lawmaker in 2023.

Aminu’s empowerment programme was in fulfilling the promise he made to his people while campaigning, and seeking their support, ahead of the election to the states Assembly in 2023.

Almost immediately after he was inaugurated with his colleagues as a member of the state House of Assembly, Aminu gave indication that he was serious about giving his people the much needed economic support so, they can fend for themselves, and in the process improve the general economic environment of the constituency.

Consequently, he introduced some special socio-economic enhancement schemes to his constituents, among them; (scholarship), bursary for indigent students in post-primary and tertiary institutions, free computer training programme, entrepreneurial training for youths, and micro-finance facilities for farmers and traders, vocational training for youths and widows, free medical outreach to aged and the less-privileged, and Christmas outreach.

For instance no fewer than 100 youths, male and female; have benefited from skills acquisition programmes sponsored by the lawmaker. At the end of the training, the young men and women would be provided with finical backups

To the 100 youths are at least over 200 youths and women, especially widows who have been provided with sewing and grinding machines, generators and driers by the lawmaker, since they had already acquired the necessary skills in various areas.

Through his recommendation, Aminu Anty has also facilitated the employment of hundreds of people from the Doka/Gabasawa constituency into kaduna state civil service, Police, etc.

So far, over 1000 people have benefited from the Aminu Anty’s empowerment programme valued at millions of naira since 2023.

However, his recent empowerment progarmmes has been described as mother of all empowerment because of the number of Materials, cash and other life-enhancing items he generously gave to members of the business community, farmers, market women, traders, youths , and some politicians in the constituency.

So, Aminu Anty is paying back for the people who voted massively for him. He came to give back what they gave him in 2023 because he’s only holding the power on their behalf.

What I have done here today cannot be compared to what they have done for me, but this is just the beginning, the best of me is yet to come.

Aminu Anty empowerment programme has raised the bar, especially for a first-timer in the House of Assembly. I can tell you that governor Senator Uba Sani is happy, and impressed that the people who voted him into the legislation are actually the direct beneficiaries.

From what is happening, any elected representative that does not perform well will be voted out. This office is held in trust for the people and our elected officials need to report to the people as the office is not a personal thing.

2027 Realignment: Kaduna Speaker Visits Shehu Sani

In bid to strategies and form a united front ahead of the 2027 general elections in Kaduna , the Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Yusuf Liman has visited former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani woo him to return to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress.

According to information gathered, part of reasons for the visit was to also thank him for the support and contributions provided during the concluded Investigation of alleged looting of Kaduna State Treasury.

The Kaduna State House of Assembly did set up a 13- member fact finding committee to investigate financial transactions, loans, grants and project executions under the eight year administration of former governor Nasir El-rufai.

The adhoc committee set up by the Assembly carried out the investigations and submitted its report indicting ex-governor Elrufai and some of his appointees of siphoning N423bn State funds.

However, Senator Shehu Sani ,who was elected by the steps taken to recover the looted funds hailed the Kaduna State House of Assembly for probing former governor El-rufai’s administration from 2015-2023 with a strong voice that the people of Kaduna were appreciative of the lawmakers’ courage and determination.

The human rights activist then promised to give all the necessary support needed to recover the looted funds irrespective of whoever is involved.

In appreciation of Shehu Sani’s support and contributions during the investigation by the Assembly, the speaker visited him as measure to return the gesture.

Meanwhile, from information gathered as part of reasons for the visit was to discuss realignment and appeal for his return to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) to support Governor Uba Sami ahead with of 2027 general election.

Shehu Sani in recent appeared to have resolved the political difference with his bosom friend and Kaduna Governor, Senator Uba Sani in order to work in unity as a formidable force to develop Kaduna State .

APC Group Describes Allegations Against NNPCL boss,Kyari as baseless

A group, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Credibility Movement, has described the series of allegations against the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, in recent weeks as baseless.

The group’s Chairman, Musa Sadauki, said in a statement on Friday that Mele Kyari has faced a barrage of unsubstantiated accusations from a shadowy group known as the Tinubu Legacy Coalition (TLC) over the past week.

According to Sadauki, this group, led by figures such as Bala Abu, Princess Ajibola, and Dr. Thomas, has launched a campaign to tarnish Kyari’s reputation with unfounded claims.

Musa labeled the attacks a “campaign of calamity” destined to fail.

The APC supporters argued that Kyari’s track record as a transformative leader in the oil and gas sector is undeniable.

Sadauki said, “Through his implementation of the TAPE synergy—an initiative aimed at curbing corruption and waste within the NNPCL—Kyari has proven himself a formidable administrator.”

The Chairman argued that these attacks are driven by disgruntled elements whose illegal activities, including oil bunkering, have been thwarted under Kyari’s leadership.

“We contend that these individuals are attempting to destabilize the NNPCL to pave the way for their own economic interests, but emphasize that their efforts are futile,” he said.

Musa reminded the attackers that Nigeria’s interests are far greater than any individual’s personal gain.

Meanwhile, the statement called on those behind the smear campaign to abandon their efforts and instead contribute positively to the nation.

“As Nigeria continues to face numerous challenges, including economic hardship and insecurity, President Bola Tinubu remains focused on his mission to address these issues,” the statement said.

It stressed that undermining key figures like the NNPCL boss will only hinder the nation’s progress.

Road Projects: Northern Group commends David Umahi, Thanks Tinubu.

Northern based Group, Arewa Development Forum (ADF) has commended the Minister of Works , Engr. Dave Umahi for his unwavering commitment to ensuring speedy work and visible progress made so far on the Lagos- Badagry to Sokoto Super Highway road projects.

According to the group, the excellent job of combining the expertise of the critical terrain with the political will by the Minister to push through the different land mines without compromising standards is a feat worthy of commendation.

“We observed with keen interest that despite being from the southeast part of Nigeria, the Minister of Works is leaving now stone unturned to ensure speedy completion of the protracted work of the Abuja to road projects in northern areas”. It stated .

In statement made available to journalists in Kaduna today, Arewa Development Forum, which made the commendations said , the decision to single out the Minister of Works was informed by quality of work being done on the ongoing road projects

While thanking President Bola Tinubu for the bold initiative to construct the 1000-kilometre Sokoto-Badagry superhighway, the Forum described the project as another evidence of his commitment to driving phenomenal socio-economic growth across the country.

The Forum noted that the road will not only create thousands of jobs ,but will also open up the North western economy to the rest of the country and the World.Adding that Umahi is the best Works minister in the history of the country.

It stated , “We can recall that the Sokoto-Badagry road has been in the pipeline for the past 48 years, without considerations from successive administrations, including immediate past Buhari led administration to kick start the project. But today,it is a reality and we are not in doubt that the legacy projects will be complete within time scheduled.

“For us as northerners, we view the bold vision of President Tinubu as an evidence of the priority placed on development that commensurate with infrastructure to connect northern regions to all parts of Nigeria.”

GOVERNOR UBA SANI, KADUNA SOUTH SENATORIAL ZONE AND THE DEBATE ON INCLUSION

By Hon. Goje Yahaya Yarkasuwa

Between the appointments that end up benefiting only a few privileged individuals (narrowed down to their families and cronies) and initiating developmental projects that cut across all segments of society, which should be the yardstick for measuring the inclusion performance of a Governor?

It is the right of the people of Kaduna State for Governor Uba Sani to deliver development equitably across the 3 senatorial zones, 23 LGAs and 255 wards. However, in delivering the mandate, it is the Governor’s exclusive prerogative to determine who he wants to work with.

Agreed, the 1999 constitution promotes the adherence to quota system in terms of inclusion, which the Governor has met in terms of geography, but there is nowhere that mandates the Governor to reserve a particular number for any of the religions or ethnic groups. Even if there is such a position, traditional worshippers (Yan Dodo) should be crying the loudest of marginalization.

History has shown that the appointment of individuals only on the basis of religion, ethnicity, or region does not necessarily translate to meaningful development for the people belonging to any of the above-mentioned identities. Realistically, it is not quantity that matters but quality. One individual of quality in government can add more value than a dozen without quality but given appointments based on primordial sentiments.

Using only the number of appointments given to christians to question the inclusion performance of the governor does not capture the full picture. The full picture can be complete only if we compare where we are as Christians today in Kaduna to where we used to be under the last government. Recall that the last governor openly said he would not give the senatorial zone appointments and development because he was not voted there.

An objective review will suggest that the governor should be commended rather than criticized. In less than one year, Governor Uba Sani has commissioned more projects across key sectors, with some completed and others at different stages of implementation, than the entire eight years of the last administration.

The impressive ongoing Vocational and Technology Skills Acquisition City, in Samaru Kataf, Zangon Kataf LGA, was unthinkable under the last administration. Not to forget the ongoing, almost completed, reconstruction of the Sir Ibrahim Yakowa General Hospital. No doubt the difference is clear.

In addition, during the last administration Christian stakeholders did not have a voice and were hardly consulted and involved in decision making. The Governor has severally met with these stakeholders to get feedbacks, many of whom are elder statesmen, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth and women leaders.

No one can argue that the Governor has reconstructed the damaged social bridge by his predecessor. Despite pockets of inconsistent attacks, unlike what it used to be under the last Governor (who seemed to even encourage it), the senatorial zone is more peaceful and united with the security situation fast improving, an enabling environment ready for more development projects, courtesy the people centered inclusive governance approach of the Governor.

This is happening despite the fact that the senatorial zone did not vote for the Governor during the 2023 gubernatorial election. While Christians might not have gotten enough positions as desired, still some of the best hands from the zone are in charge of strategic positions in the Government, heading the Ministry of Finance and Kaduna Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS).

With a difficult economic situation and in the face of the State’s huge debt burden, the Governor entrusted the responsibility of championing the revenue generation drive of the administration on a son of the senatorial zone. Not to forget yielding the influence position of SSA on Political Affairs to Dr. Maigari Manzo, who has continued to build bridges between the people of the zone and the administration.

In addition, as sensitive as security is, it is a christian, Hon. Samuel Aruwan, that oversees the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs. Similarly, the SSA on Security, Nehemiah Bamai, is equally a christian. Despite the fact that the Governor did not appoint the current Chief of Defence Staff, General Chris Musa, who is a christian and making the senatorial zone proud by his exceptional performance, the Governor has had a synergistic working relationship with him. This has helped improve the security situation in the State.

More important to note, this is just over one year in office, the Governor has about three years to go. Just the way his has the prerogative to hire and fire, as the people of the zone continue to give him the needed cooperation and support, it will give him the impetus to consider elevating some of the performing christian members of his Governor and appoint more, not based on primordial sentiments as being advocated.

KADUNA ACTIVIST LASHED AISHA YESUFU FOR ATTACKING NIGERIA ARMY.

A kaduna based politician and activist, Comrade Musa Mohammed has lashed out at co-convener, BringBackOurGirls, Aisha Yesufu, appraising her that abusing, accusing and castigating the Nigeria Army won’t favour her and those sponsoring her.

In a foul-mouthed attack, Aisha mocking the army for not ending the banditry (insurgency), described them as a “coward” simply “cowering during the present #Endbad governance protest”.

Yesufu’s statement attracted the ire of Nigerians, with many rebuking her for lacking manners and disrespecting  the country’s defenders and last hope.

The Activists, on Wednesday, in a media chat in Kaduna, reprimand the self-acclaimed activist, who according to him, she’s unteachable, empty and bereft of knowledge; quick to jump into issues to satisfy her paymasters.

“Let me remind Aisha Yesufu on issues surrounding insurgency in the country and the West-African sub region, the Nigerian troops would have achieved more than it already did if not for Yesufu’s associates, comprised mostly of terrorists.

“If you think joining Army is just like toy’s play, why can’t you and your hopeless husband join the army.

Comrade Mohammed advised Aisha Yesufu to immediately tender an apology to the citizens and Nigeria army, because accusing or abusing the army is the same as abusing your country.

He noted with disgust the new low to which the co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls group, Aisha Yesufu has sunken to when she decided to describe the nigeria army as a cowards.

Even for the pay-for-hire activist that Aisha Yesufu has been confirmed to be, her decision to desecrate the highest office in the land is the height of irresponsibility regardless of how much she has been paid to distract the Nigeria Army .

Her justification for this unpatriotic criminal act was supposedly because Chadian troops were able to give Boko Haram terrorists a fight, which made her to ignorantly conclude that Nigeria army has not done enough to deal with the insurgents when the opposite is the case.

“Aisha media chat which is most unfortunate and unacceptable.

“In reality, the saddest part of her entire media chat  is that Aisha Yesufu is unteachable, incapable of keeping quiet and composed long enough for the facts being presented to her to sink in before she goes all hyper in her desperation to satisfy those that are deceiving her that they can pay her way out of poverty. Had Yesufu been capable of these qualities, I myself (Comrade Musa Mohammed) would have undertaken to provide knowledgeable experts to educate her to the cardinal errors that underpin her commentaries on national issues.

“I will like Aisha Yesufu to orientate herself to the concept of international relations, international law and jurisprudence, which would easily point her to understand that while Boko Haram operates in an area that transverses Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Niger it is still not possible for one country to intrude into the territory of the other, which the terrorists have been exploiting to launch cross border attacks before fleeing into a different jurisdiction.

In terms of military realities, an intelligent person, even without military background, would have realized that it took the constant containment and degrading from the operations conducted by the Nigerian Army to have corralled the Boko Haram terrorists into the underground holes from where the Chadian Army smoked them out.

“She must also be made aware that her comments are supporting kidnappedrs (Bandits), Boko Haram recruitment drive by creating the impression that there is a preponderance of public sympathy and acceptance of the crime that the terrorists are committing.

“It’s important to mention that the Nigerian military would have made further gains against the terrorists but for the sabotage of Yesufu’s associates, comprised mostly of terrorists’ sympathizers and organizations that trade in human misery, who do everything possible to prevent the military from wiping out those scums of the earth.

I Comrade Musa Mohammed hereby calls on Aisha Yesufu to immediately apologize to Nigerians for treating and accusing the nigeria army with disrespect and disdain.

“Aisha Yesufu’s personal angst against the Nigeria Army is something that only her understands, enough is enough”.
