CNPP’s Call on FG to Purge NNPC’s Management Team over ‘Corruption’ ,Cheap Blackmail- Kailani Muhammad

The National Coordinator of Tinubu Shettima Network (TSN), , Engineer Kailani Muhammad has described as ‘Cheap blackmail’ the recent call by Conference Of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) on President Muhammadu Buhari led government to purge National Nigerian Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) of corrupt management team, who are currently overseeing the company .

According to him, the major issues of fuel Scarcity and failure to meet up with OPEC quota advanced by CNPP are nothing, but clear attempt to call a dog a bad to hang it.

He asked:”Is it NNPC staff that are stealing oil .it is a cartel and which the security agencies and politicians are involved and this has been happening since 1983 in this country?”

The group Coordinator, whoapplauded President Muhammadu Buhari for setting up a 14-man Steering Committee to find lasting solutions to the problems surrounding the supply and distribution chain of petroleum products in the country, said, “I don’t think there is any corruption in the newly incorporated NNPCL, because since the repositioning , nobody or leader can deep hands in NNPC’s coffers to steal money, because there are laws guiding the company now unlike before ,when a president can just write and sipphon money .

Engineer Kailani Muhammad, who spoke in a reaction to a recent statement signed by CNPP Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu explained,” It beats our imagination that a group to condemn the current management has been doing a lot ,most especially the Group Managing Director. Eng. Mele Kyari, who works round-the-clock to ensure optimum operations are guaranteed with everything now done through the rule of law .

In the Press release personally signed and made available to journalists in Kaduna, Engineer Kailani who was the National Coordinator of Muhammadu Buhari Votes Guard before it metamorphosed into Tinubu Shettima Network posited,”These so called comrades of CNPP and their allies have no just reasons to accuse management of Mele Kyari led team of corruption .

According to him, it’s more disheartening that they don’t even have figures to back up their allegations of corruption against the management.

However he stated:”We expect members of CNPP to know that under previous government, NNPC was more of a cash cow for years than National oil company, until President Muhammadu Buhari’s government repositioned it.

“NNPC is now an independent company, which was established by CAMA and the Petroleum Industry Act that passed by NASS and signed by the President .

“As independent company now ,it needs to generate money for Nigeria for Proper investment and open up the system for business individuals willing to invest in the Oil sector to do so with ease .

“Today NNPCL can pay taxes and royalty to the government, which it has been doing . If the CNPP and its allies don’t have anything doing ,they should shut up and support this Government to ensure that dividends of democracy are delivered to the people.”

While claiming that CNPP is being sponsored by PDP to castigate and denigrate Buhari’s government, Kailani expressed strong believe they will fail. But called on the them to desist from negative insinuations and leave NNPCL alone.

He further stated ,” All those enemies, who think Nigeria is their heritage and have failed to leave the political scene for better tomorrow are doomed to fail .

“We know they want the government to fail because, they don’t believe in President Muhammadu Buhari’s government .

“There is nothing wrong, when a Leader does well ,such deserves commendation and where anything wrong is observed rather than unnecessary criticism, suggest ideas objectively.

I saw CNPP, the group of those enemies of these government , who don’t even want Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to with the election.

On issue of meeting up with OPEC quota , Kailani spoke on measures adopted by Kyari’s led Management team to tackle oil theft cases.

He said, The government in his wisdom allowed the NNPCL to engage Tompolo ,when crude Oil production output dropped from 1.8 to 900 and later to even almost 100 barrel per day .

“After the engagement of Tompolo ,we are now producing optimally and maybe in the next few months ,we can meet up with our OPEC quota, because he done well to make sure that all the taps on the pipelines are no more and checkmating the thieves in the creeks. This is feat that we need to give kudos to the government and NNPC instead of criticising them .

” NNPCL has been intervening on issue of bad roads to ensure that our major roads are either rehabilitated or reconstructed. It’s doing this to make sure that it supplements government’s efforts, where the government is yet to do something for the benefits of Nigerians .

That NNPC has intervened on matters of roads; hospitals and even during COVID-19 is no doubt a good omen that should be commended, especially the president Muhammadu Buhari’s government , who has been doing tremendously well in the areas of infrastructure , security and repositioning the NNPCL.

CSOs Form Group to Resist Sale of NNPC , Other Public Assets

… Threatens to Go to Courts over any attempt to Sell

Coalition of Civil Society members have formed a group under umbrella of the Movement Against Privatization(MAP) to resist the sale of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and other National assets by any government .

According to group, since the idea of selling national assets ,such as: NITEL , National Fertilizer,NEPA , Steel companies and several others didn’t favoured the ordinary Nigerians and masses in past, there should be no reason to consider selling for now .

The group, which threatened to mobilise Nigerians if any government decides to consider selling NNPC, said it’s not only prepared to mobilise Nigerians should there be any attempt to sell public assets ,but also vowed to go to court and stop it.

In a press statement signed by the Secretary General, Usman Dabo, the group said part of the reasons for coming together to form the group is to ensure that it protects innocent Nigerians from being deceived or hoodwinked to believe that Privatization of public assets is the only solution to effective production and adequate supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as Petrol.

The statement further reads : “We formed the Movement Against Privatization because cannot afford to adopt a “Siddon-Look’ approach and watch our sensitive companies that touch live of Nigerians in almost all ramifications to be out sold under any guise by selfish politicians and their cronies.

“No sensitive leader and government will consider selling a critical national oil company ,such as NNPC limited especially, considering the monopoly of price involved in such companies .

“We have watched and listened to all the presidential candidates and observed that most of the Presidential candidates appeared to be talking in favour of privatisation and this we would vehemently resist.”

It however described as unfortunate , that the situation ,where the crop of Presidential candidates are not talking about creating policies that will encourage both local and international investors to invest in building new refineries.

Stressing ,”This is why we crying out loud now to anyone that will succeed President Muhammadu Buhari to know early enough that this movement is out to resist any attempt to auction NNPC and other public assets.

“We have put up structures across the 36 States of Nigeria , including the Federal Capital Territory,Abuja to mobilise Civil Society Organizations, Traders , Students and other Nigerians to return the street for mother of all protest,if there is any government that mutes the idea sale of public assets .”

Meanwhile, the Group which threw its weight behind complete removal of subsidy disclosed, “We have set up a special unit to begin a process of Sensitisation with a clear message of “Don’t Sell NNPC” in particular ,but open Windows for individuals to invest in private refineries, so doing, there would be opportunities to tackle the problem of perennial scarcity ; Create employment , transfer technology , expand scope of industrial growth and development .

“This group insist that whoever wins the elections should leave the existing refineries to operate as a government entity and create policies that will be friendly to investors” .

The National body of the Grassroot Independent Campaign Council for Tinubu/Shettima 2023 on Thursday inaugurated its Taraba State chapter with the former Nigerian Envoy to Trinidad and Tobago, Amb. Hassan Jika Ardo is the state Coordinator.

The inaugural ceremony was held at Millennium Hall in Jalingo, the capital city.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy National Coordinator of GICC, North, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim said the choice of Amb. Ardo was deliberate as they made a thorough analysis and found him to have some qualities that Sen. Bola Tinubu has which being a “unifier and a dogged fighter”.

He explained that the GICC will consolidate the work of the PCC by going to the nook and crannies of rural areas of the sixteen 744 LGAs down to the wards and polling units across the 36 states of the federation including the FCT, Abuja to canvas votes for Tinubu/ Shettima from the Nigerians.

“We are going to sensitize our people. The women, youth, and elders especially on how to cast their votes with the new voting system, as well as ensure that they vote for Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Sen. Kasheem Shettima during the February elections,” he added.

According to Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, the council was part of the strategies to ensure that the party wins the elections at all levels in the country without hitches.

While commending the women and youth for the turnout, Muhammed also urged the APC supporters and other stakeholders in Taraba State to join hands together with the state chapter of GICC under the leadership of Amb. Hassan Ardo and ensure victory in the coming general elections.

Rt. Hon. Hamidu Suleiman, chairman of the occasion and former Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly appealed to APC supporters and all stakeholders to support and cooperate with the council to enable them to achieve the set goals of ensuring that Tinubu/ Shettima wins the state.

On his part, the Lead Consultant 1, GICC, Sen. Abubakar Mo’Allayidi noted that GICC is not a rival to anybody but will work with other support groups for Tinubu/Shettima to ensure victory in the February elections and appealed for more cooperation.

Earlier, the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Tukur El-sudi, who was represented by his Vice described Amb. Hassan Ardo as a round peg in a round hole, adding that with the inauguration, APC would not only take over the state and Nigeria in the next general elections, but it would send PDP packing completely in most parts of the country.

“I told my people in 2015 that Gov. Darius Ishaku had nothing to offer if he was elected as the governor of the state. I advised Tarabans not to vote for him but nobody listened to me. Now, look at how poor Taraba state is”. He alleged.

Abuja Stands Still for Tinubu/Shettima, as TSN Inaugurates Officers

…Group optimistic of Tinubu/Shettima’s emergence

By Femi Adi

Ahead of the forthcoming 2023 Presidential Elections, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja stood still for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima, as Group under aegis of TINUBU/SHETTIMA NETWORK (TSN) its members today inaugurated National Officers and State Coordinators

In his speech delivered by the National Chairman of Tinubu/Shettima Network, Engineer (Dr.) Kailani Muhammad during the inauguration ceremony held at Barcelona Hotel, Wuse, Abuja, the chairman disclosed that the event was a milestone in the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.
He said that the event had jumpstarted the implementation of the organization’s strategies and synergies toward achieving significant paradigm shift from the clutches of political stagnation in the country to the dynamics of political re-invention in tandem with the 21st century global trend.

According to him, TSN is a rebirth of the Voters Guard and Awareness, which through the years 2003, 2007, 2011 and eventually, in 2015 and 2019 ensured success for President Muhammadu Buhari with about 12 million votes.

He further said, even though the journey was rough and tough the landscape loaded with landmines, the group was able to weather the storm and the minimal effort and inputs yielded positive results at the end of it all.

While explaining that “TSN structure presently is deeply grass rooted in all the 36 states of the federation and the FCT, Senatorial Districts, Local Government Councils and Wards across the country, Dr. Kailani Muhammad assured the gathering and Nigerians in general that the group is strategically positioned for a vibrant result – oriented outcome, more than we recorded in 2015 and 2019. Stressing,”By the special grace of God Almighty, our efforts will not be in vain.

“We shall put in every effort and ensure that all hands are on deck to register election success and ensure that Senator Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima are sworn in as President and Commander Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and Vice President respectively come 2023, Insha Allah.”

The National Chairman however, reminded Nigerians that the Abiola/ Tofa episode has manifested once again in the TINUBU/SHETTIMA ticket as an alternative for sustainable leadership and government .

He therefore posited that Nigeria and the citizens cannot afford to miss it this time around because, time is not on our side.

“Nigerians should understand that, the manifestation of this ticket has given us hope, such that very soon, in the near future, there is going to be a Christian –Christian ticket. Once we arrive at that stage, we can be assured that the time of religious distrust in Nigeria is gone forever and that those political jobseekers that feed on religious politics will become jobless.

“Unfortunately, it is becoming obvious that the same negative mindsets that jeopardized the Abiola Tofa election are out again, with clandestine purposes and waving religious sentiment jargons in our faces, with devious intent to dissuade and discourage us from acknowledging the positive aspects that come with the TINUBU/SHETTIMA ticket.”

Speaking on leadership qualities , he described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s aspiration as appealing and a well grounded to leader ,who has built a network of friends across the country, with a name recognition and his antecedents as politician is synonymous with success.

He equally averred that” Over time Tinubu has supported men and women to stardom and knows very well how to identify talents, people that are result-driven who can work with him and achieve his policies for the good of the nation.

“Asiwaju Tinubu has the capacity to lead the country. His manifesto is a bumper package, rich in deliverables; with short term, medium term and long-term plans, thus he urged electorate to vote Tinubu/Shettima of the APC to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari who has done well.
